$20,000 raised for new school in Cambodia despite COVID-19 closures

In our first fundraiser since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, we successfully raised $20,000. The fundraiser, launched on February 15, raised $10,000 in less than a week. These donations were matched by Eric Southwell from Adskills bringing our grand total up to $20,000.

New school in Siem Reap

We will be using the funds to build an entirely new school building, equipped with three new classrooms. The buildings will be constructed using sustainable materials that will last for generations. The remaining funds will be used to fund teacher’s salaries for an entire academic school year and to supply the students and school with basic school supplies.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Cambodian government has closed Siem Reap to tourists as well as the surrounding communities and schools. Unfortunately, while the schools and communities remain closed, we have to postpone our projects until it’s safe for people to leave their homes again.

While the situation is disappointing, we understand that during these uncertain times, the safety of our students and teachers comes first. We look forward to being able to help them again once schools and the community can safely reopen.
