Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival day

Upon arriving in Siem Reap, a Hearts Company representative will greet you at the airport exit and accompany you to the driver who will safely transport you to the hotel. With arrivals of volunteers staggered throughout the day, take this opportunity to relax or explore the town. Our centrally located hotel ensures easy access to all attractions, and Siem Reap is known for its safety. Feeling hungry? Numerous delectable restaurants await, but save room for our group's welcome dinner. Meet your fellow volunteers and receive a briefing from Jamie, one of The Hearts Company founders, about our exciting upcoming days!

At the welcome dinner, you’ll be randomly choosing your partner teacher for the days at the school. After your partner is selected, you’ll begin planning your lessons for tomorrows classes with the students!

Day 2: Visit The Dream School and begin teaching!

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading to The Dream School. You'll meet the warm and welcoming students, teachers, and staff and explore the lively classrooms. Afterward, we'll dive into the details of the classes you'll be teaching, learning about the school's needs and how we can best support their growth. Each day, we’ll enjoy authentic Cambodian lunches as we dedicate ourselves to teaching and interacting with the students. In the late afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel to relax, freshen up, and head out for dinner. If you prefer to have dinner on your own or just relax, that's perfectly fine too!

Day 3: Teaching classes at the school

Today brings another exciting day of volunteering at the school! After breakfast, we’ll head straight to continue teaching classes. In the afternoon, we’ll get creative with arts and crafts alongside the students, and for those interested, we can enjoy a friendly soccer match during break time. Once our school day wraps up, we’ll head back to the hotel where you can relax or hang out by the pool.

Later that night, we can venture out to the famous Pub Street for drinks and some fun!

Day 4: Teaching classes at the school

After breakfast, we’ll head to the school to work on some final lessons in the classroom. A delicious traditional Cambodian lunch will be served, followed by more quality time with the students and teachers. Your role as native English speakers is incredibly valuable, giving students essential real-life practice to improve their speaking skills and build confidence!

And remember, if there’s still work to be done, we’ll be returning to the school in a few days to pick up where we left off! For those staying the additional 2 days, you’ll still have 2 more days teaching at the school.

Day 5: Floating Village Tour

Finally, a day to sleep in and relax! Enjoy the morning lounging by the pool, exploring the town, or catching up on some well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, we'll venture to the Floating Village, immersing ourselves in its rich history and culture, and gaining insight into the challenges faced by its residents. A boat ride through the village will reveal their homes, families, and way of life. As the sun sets, we'll visit the alligator farm. Back at the hotel, dinner is your choice – dine alone or with the group during your free time. Rest well tonight, for tomorrow we'll rise early to explore incredible temples, including the majestic Angkor Wat, one of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World!

Day 6: Temple Tour - Angkor wat, Ta Prohm and Bayon Temple

Today is another day volunteering at the school! After breakfast, we'll head straight to the school to continue our project. In the afternoon, we'll have fun with arts and crafts alongside the students, and if they're interested, a friendly soccer match during break time. After our day at the school is over, we’ll head back to the hotel where everyone can relax or maybe hangout by the pool.

That night, we can head out to the famous pub street for some drinks and fun!

Day 7: Last day at the school

As we reach the end of our journey, today will be our farewell at the school. After breakfast, we'll return to spend precious moments with the students and teachers. We'll cherish a small celebration and engage in more English teaching and interactions. Later in the afternoon, we'll head back to the hotel to freshen up and ensure all are ready for tomorrow's departure. We’ll head out to Pub Street for some drinks and fun and reminisce on our incredible times together!

Day 8: Departure day

For those not staying the full 10 days, it's time to bid farewell today. Rest assured, we'll ensure timely Tuk Tuk transfers to the international airport for your flights. As for those staying the extra 2 days, today offers a free day to explore at your own pace. Optional tours will be available if you wish to make the most of it! Additionally, there's an opportunity to help teach the high school students' English class at the school in the late afternoon. The choice is yours!

Additional Days:

Day 9: Extra day at the school

Yey!! Another day at the school, and we have a special plan. Each remaining volunteer will continue to teach English lessons. If your teaching partner has already departed, don’t worry, a helpful Cambodian assistant teacher will be there to support you throughout. After a traditional Cambodian lunch, enjoy free time bonding with the students—play at the playground, join a soccer game, or simply chat and get to know them and the teachers. Later, we'll head back to the hotel to unwind and have dinner as a group, cherishing these moments with our fellow volunteers.

Day 10: Departure day for final volunteers

The final day has come:( We are sad to see you go, but we hope to see you again soon for another Hearts Company Volunteer trip and we cannot thank you enough for the incredible support you have shown to our students, teachers ad organization!!
